Welcome to the Infant II Room!
Welcome to the Infant II room, the older infant room. We are looking forward to getting to know both you and your child better. Your child will be in this room from about 8 months to 15 months depending on development and the availability in the next room. We hope that this letter provides you with all the information you will need about our classroom.
We continue to follow the individual child’s routine rather than having a set routine for all children to follow. Parents are asked to provide us with their child’s daily routine which will be posted in the classroom to help make sure the teachers are following the same routine at daycare as is being used at home. Each day you will receive a daily information sheet that will tell you about your child’s day, including their eating, diapering, and sleeping schedule.
As your child grows, we will work with you to adjust his or her schedule. As we get closer to the transition to the Toddler Room we will begin working with you and your child on moving toward the more set schedule of the next room.
Important Information About the Infant II Room
The Infant II classroom does not use the primary caregiver system used in the Infant I room. We each take a part in your child’s daily routine.
What to Bring to Infant II
We will transition all diapers, food, medications, etc, from the Infant I room to Infant II. Sippy cups, and ointment are provided for you.
You will be asked to supply the following:
- 1 - 2 weather appropriate outfits to be stored in your child’s cubby
- Any special diapering needs such as creams or powders
- If you prefer to bring in your own food or formula, please bring them in labeled with your child’s name
- A special blanket or toy for sleeping
- Any medications your child needs
Meals and Snacks
Meals provided include breakfast, lunch, and p.m. snack. Table food, crackers, cheerios, nutri-grain bars, apple juice, whole milk, (and 2% milk, if requested by your child’s doctor) are provided. We will work with you to determine what your child can eat each day when they start table food. A copy of the menu is available if needed.
We also provide Nestle Good Start Supreme formula and rice and oatmeal cereal for those parents who choose to participate.
Storage is provided if you choose to bring in your child’s formula or baby food.
Bottles should be taken home daily and sanitized, and clean bottles need to be brought back. Dirty bottles will be placed in plastic bags in your child’s diaper bags each day to be taken home.
Each child will have their own medicine sign-up sheet in our room. Each day that you would like us to administer medicine to your child, you will need to sign up the name of the medicine, date and the time and dosage to administer the medication. When you pick your child up, you will sign your name to verify that we have given your child the medication.
Prescription medications must come in the original containers with the pharmacy label. All medication must be clearly labeled with the child’s name.
